Application Process and Nomination Form
Any student who is interested in participating in the Freight Academy must be nominated by a public agency. A review panel comprised of Coalition staff, leaders and other members in the Coalition organization (including Freight Academy graduates) will review all nomination forms and make final selections.
Due to the limited number of candidates accepted, the selection process can be competitive (particularly for scholarship candidates). In completing nomination forms, applicants should put forth responses that show their commitment and enthusiasm for attendance at the Freight Academy.
Applicants are typically notified of acceptance within four weeks of the closing date for applications.
Participants must complete FHWA’s Integrating Freight in the Transportation Planning Process (NHI #139006). This free course is available on-line here.
